The entrance exam to our degree programme for standard students involves three different phases:
1 – Candidates complete an application form which must then be returned to the CFJ. (Please see L’inscription au concours) ;
2 – After officially registering for the entrance exam, candidates fill in an on-line questionnaire presenting their individual background and take a series of written on-line tests.
3 – Candidates who pass the on-line tests are then invited to take an oral admission test.
PLEASE NOTE: All CFJ tests are in French.
In registering for the entrance exam, candidates agree to abide by the exam rules, including those concerning their age and their level of education (see L’inscription au concours). They also commit to paying an enrolment fee (See Les coûts de la scolarité). The exact dates of the entrance exams are decided by the managing directors and published on this website in the calendar section.
Our entrance exams aim to evaluate the motivation and the aptitude of candidates both to follow our courses and also to work as journalists in the future. They include questions about candidates’ motivation, personality and career aptitudes, a test on information gathering and report-writing, a current affairs test and a creativity test. The candidates who pass must then take a written and oral entrance exam as well as a motivation interview which is generally organized in May or June.
Without paying any extra enrolment fees, our students can obtain, in addition to the CFJ’s degree, a Master’s from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University by following 80 hours of extra credit per year, thanks to classes taught at the CFJ by teachers from Paris I. The different academic partnerships which are part of or associated with the CFJ’s courses are listed in partnerships.
